Internet Marketers - Want To Build An Email List And Don't Know How?

To be a successful internet marketer you need to make money, and to make money online you need a list of prospective buyers. If you have a website and no list then your traffic is dependent upon the whims of the search engines or you take up paid advertising. A secure way is to build a database of all the customers who bought from you in the past. This database is pure gold because these people are the ones who are likely to respond to your offers in the future.

The basics of creating a list are quite simple; you need a website, an autoresponder service and something to offer, usually free. An autoresponder will store all your email leads and be able to send out scheduled messages, newsletters or latest offers to all or just some of your subscribers. When you think that a marketing list can contain 10,000 subscribers or more, then you see that an efficient autoresponder service is essential and one called Aweber is probably the best.

You will want a targeted list of subscribers to market your offers to. For example, you will get a poor response offering beauty products to a list of subscribers in the soccer niche! Each niche will need a separate list and some internet marketers may have 20 or so different lists! Don't worry though, you'll only be starting off with 1 or 2 lists as a beginner and the autopresponder service can take care of 1 or 20+ lists just as efficiently.

If you are a total newbie when it comes to internet marketing, then you are going to have to learn how to get a webpage or blog up and running so you can offer something of value to your visitors. Try a free blog at Blogspot.com (owned by Google) which is pretty straightforward to setup and has a user friendly backend where you carry out admin tasks. The other more involved option is to buy a domain name with hosting where you can set up your webpage. GoDaddy.com is quite good at hand-holding the beginner and walking you through the various steps, but beware they will try and sell you different 'bells and whistles' options at each step so do some research first about basic things you'll need for a simple website.

Now you have a hosted webpage or free blog at Blogspot with your offer on a 'squeeze page' [designed to let the visitor access your free offer or product only after they entered their email address first]. Your squeeze page must include a web form with a link back to your autoresponder service to put your subscribers onto a list. There are paid email marketing solutions provided by the likes of Aweber and Getresponse but there are also free solutions like MailChimp.com. If you are serious about internet marketing to develop it into a full time income, which is certainly possible, start off with a good paid service like Aweber.

To be honest, speaking from experience, it can be a bit tricky getting these things set up if you are a complete beginner when it comes to list building, and mistakes are bound to be made. As you progress along the learning curve your skills will increase but in the initial stages it's possible to make a big error that can be difficult to recover from and may try your patience to the point of wanting to give up. That would be a shame because, as I mentioned before, the potential to make good income is there and it's oft been said by internet marketers 'the money is in the list'

There is another way for those without technical skills to begin building a marketing list without the need of a blog, webpage, squeeze page, domain name or hosting. 5iphon.com (I think they refer to themselves as 'Siphon') who will provide you with a totally free hosted webpage that will virally build you a list on autopilot. Another service is Instant Cash Machine that also provide a ready made hosted squeeze page for a one off payment, they also provide you with an in house autoresponder service although you may opt to use Aweber. You will still need a separate autoresponder service for either Aweber or Getresponse if you use 5iphon.com, but Aweber in particular has some very good video tutorials for beginners to help set up your first list. May I wish you every success in your email marketing career!

I wrote this article because I'm seeking for ways to make money online to help me pay some of my monthly bills. I've also started a blog to keep me motivated and hopefully act as a guide to others as well. Everyone says that the 'money is in the list' and to that end I've started to explore email marketing to build a list of subscribers to my newsletters.

List Segmentation Strategies

I often run free online marketing strategy sessions with other small business owners. During these sessions we focus on a particular issue they have in their business and I help them work out the best approach to tackle the problem. Following a conversation within one such session, it presented these questions:

Building a list on an email/newsletter programme, what strategy can you use to best handle various access points and their ensuing lists?

What can be done to ensure that lists do not produce cross-over where clients may receive information that is no longer relevant to them as they move on in the marketing chain?

My advice is, and it would also be relevant to any business owner who creates a lot of access points into their marketing: e-books, webinars, seminars, downloads, events, newsletters, special offers and product purchases, to use a tried and tested email/newsletter programme to look after the lists and use to cater to the demands of a multiple access point market.

The great feature of email/newsletter programmes are their list management functionality. You won't annoy members on your lists, if you are sending a newsletter to more than one list at a time, they will ensure that each person received the newsletter only once, even if they are members of multiple lists, provided they signed up for all lists with the same email address. So for example, you could be a member of e-book list and tele-summit list but you will receive the newsletter only once if you send it at the same time to both lists.

Indeed it's better to have lists separated for all different products, seminars, offers, events you will run. The key is to keep a separate log of why you created that list, what members signed up for, when, how this list is linked to and related to all other lists. After 6 or more months it won't be easy to remember without this log when you've got 10 lists on the system with abbreviated names!

The benefit of having lists separated is that you could then create very targeted campaigns and follow ups based on what subscribers were initially interested in: e-book, webinar, strategy session. If you bought a webinar recording, you could then promote a follow-up webinar, an e-course on the same subject and strategically up-sell on other services and products you have. If you have all your subscribers in one list you won't be able to segment and target them in the same manner.

For each new list you can have separate auto-responders' series and you can send newsletters to go out to each list individually using separate templates. What's even better, you can set up different business details for each list.

Email/newsletter programmes show you your list totals on the dashboard so you will see how many people in total you have across all lists, as well as how many active/inactive subscribers per each list. Finally, you can set up list automation, signing up for a free e-book (free-ebook list) will also get automatically added to other lists (free-teleclass, newsletter, promotions). However, if you buy a coaching session (you become a member of coaching-clients list), you'll be automatically removed from promotions list as you are now a client, rather than a prospect. This keeps your lists targeted to most relevant prospects and ensures that clients won't get bombarded with promotional messages for products or services they've already bought.

List Building Tips - Forum Blogs

This is the second in a series of list building tips that I hope you'll find informative. In this installment, I'm going to be discussing list building and forum blogs. I'll go over why they're good to post to, what benefits you'll get from doing so, how to go about doing it and when you should. Put all of that together and you should end up with a relatively effective method for driving traffic to your squeeze page and increasing the number of subscribers on your list. Ready? Let's begin.

Let's start with why forum blogs are good to post to. Let me preface this by saying that not ALL forum blogs are good. Some won't help you at all. Some, may even be more helpful than posting to your own blog. But why? The answer is authority.

If you take the Warrior Forum as an example, if you do a search through Google for just about any topic related to Internet marketing, more often than not, you'll find the Warrior Forum pages at or near the top of the search results. The reason is because of their authority as recognized by Google in this area.

Having said that, the problem with forums, as far as using their authority to your advantage, is that most of them, if not all, do not allow you to use the forum for advertising purposes. Certainly the main sections of most forum have a no advertising policy, as does the Warrior Forum.

But - and this is where you can take advantage of their authority - the Warrior Forum DOES have a blog that each member can use to post content that can be a little more promotional as long as the bulk of the content is informational in nature. No, you can't post a sales letter on your blog, but you can talk about a subject at length and then make a pitch for a product at the end. If the content is good, the small promotion at the end will be acceptable. In the case of building a list, this is a perfect vehicle. At the end of your content, you simply put "For more info, sign up to my newsletter."

You will find that you may actually get more subscribers from doing this than from posting articles to your own blog simply because the forum in question has more authority than you do. In other words, you're piggy backing off of somebody else's success. Hey, if they allow you to do it, take advantage of it. Just make sure you post relevant information that isn't a blatant sales pitch.

The benefits from doing this are clear as day. You reach more people because your blog entry has a better chance of being seen than if you made it on your own blog, unless of course your blog has equal authority with Google and other search engines. Good luck with that.

Since I've already covered basically how to do this, the last item on the list is the "when" or "how often." That is going to greatly depend on the forum and what you're trying to accomplish. Personally, I wouldn't make more than one blog post per day. You really don't want to make it look like you're just there for the free lunch. Contribute to the regular discussions as well. Be a regular forum member as far as participation and you'll find that even making one blog post a day won't be seen as excessive.

Bottom line is simple. If you're posting at a forum that has good authority, you'll reach more people with your blog posts and in the process drive more traffic to your opt in page.

It's a simple tactic but one very few people really take advantage of because they think it's not worth the effort.

Trust me - it is.

To YOUR Success,

Steven Wagenheim

List Building Tips - Using Your Affiliates To The Fullest

In this first in a series of list building tips, I want to start off with one of the sneakiest ways to not only build your list but possibly make affiliate sales in the process.

List building, while not the only way, is one of the best ways of generating a full time income. The reason is simple. By building a responsive list (and responsive is the key) you give yourself the chance to have a number of prospects and/or potential customers that will buy products from you on a regular basis.

Granted, if you only have one product to sell, then building a list for this purpose is probably sub optimal. Still, you're going to want to build it for no other reason than to be able to follow up with those who haven't yet purchased that one product.

Not everybody purchases on first sight of a sales page. Some people need to think it over. By getting them onto your list, you give them something to think about with each follow up. A very simple way is by making each follow up an issue that outlines or details certain features and benefits of the product. The more benefits you give them, the more likely they are to purchase.

Okay, but what does any of this have to do with your affiliates? Well, if you have affiliates, you certainly want them to promote your product, right? What's one way of getting them to do this? Well, what if you were to run some sort of random script that sent a prospect to a particular affiliate's page rather than directly to your sales page?

This gives them more of an opportunity to make a sale without them having to do any additional work on their own. What affiliate wouldn't like that?

Great, but how does this build your list? What you do is you offer the person going to the affiliate site a special bonus IF they sign up for your newsletter.

Here is where this gets interesting.

Let's say you had an affiliate who was promoting one product of yours but you wanted to build a list for another product that was related. By offering this incentive, you have the possibility of making the sale from the one product that you're directly sending the prospect to (the affiliate page) while giving yourself the opportunity to make a sale off of the related product.

And even if you only have the one product, by getting them to sign up to your list through your ethical bribe, you give yourself the chance to follow up with the prospect in case they haven't purchased yet. This gives you more opportunity to close the sale AND the affiliate still gets credit.

Think your affiliates won't love you for that?

This is just one of many ways to drive traffic to your opt in page, build your list and make more sales.

Getting Your Site Linked

Getting great search engine results is more than simply optimizing your site for keywords.

The most effective way to get more visitors to your site is by "link building".

This type of advertising is the online equivalent of word-of-mouth and involves getting other Web sites to link to your site. Similar to a friend recommending a good mechanic. As this person has a relationship with you the referral carries more weight than if a person visited your site Web site from a search engine result.

But beware, it's not a case of just any link will do. "Link popularity" is the concept of relevancy. Search engine listings will increase or decrease depending on how relevant your site is for a particular keyword search in relation to the links pointing to it.

Links from sites that are not relevant to yours will have the opposite effect and lead to a decrease in your listing or could even result in Google blacklisting your site altogether.

To help you get the best results, here are a few steps you can follow when building links:

1. Set a goal.

Link building can time consuming if you don't plan ahead.
Start with working out how many links you need and what types of sites you want to approach.

2. Create value.

Before approaching other businesses make sure your site is worth the link. If it's untidy, half finished or does not sell products or services; you need to ask yourself what their visitors will get out of visiting your site.

Think about creating linkable content such as how-to articles or product reviews.
Creating content can be tough but content is KING. If you have nothing of interest on your site than why would another business want to recommend you!

3. Establish the type of sites you want to trade links with.

This is obvious but often overlooked. Creating content that will appeal to a wide range of link partners takes some practice.

Start by focusing your attention on one type of customer profile you have and what websites they would visit.

As you acquire new link partners you can shift your focus to other types of customer profiles you have.

4. Evaluate your link partners.

More always seems better and it is easy to fall into the trap of accepting link partners without thoroughly assessing the link value.

Make the most of your efforts and download the Bing Toolbar to help you decide which sites are worth it and which aren't.

The toolbar integrates with your Web browser and displays each site you visits "page rank".

Tip: Try to link with sites that have pages ranked higher than yours!

Your Mailing List: Building Trust

I'll bet you've heard that you need to build a list of your own in order to succeed countless times.

Well, it's true. In order to have long-term success, you really do need a mailing list.

But having a mailing list is only part of it.

It's what you do with mailing the list that really matters.

The real earning power is in the relationship you have with the people on your list.

You do this in:

The messages you send. The products you choose to promote, and when you promote them. The information you provide and how you respond.

No one talks about that. That changes today.

Here's a question: If I gave you a list of 50,000 real people and told you it was now your mailing list... what would you do?

How would you create sales from that list? What would you say first, second, third? How often would you email them and what would you promote?

To answer these questions, I give you my TRUST formula.

Without trust, your mailing list will not respond how you want them too. Ever.

In the real world, people must get to know you before they can like you; they must like you before they can trust you. Once you have earned that trust -- some very good things can happen.

Yes, it takes work. But believe me, it's worth it. Building a mailing list and gaining their trust is THE key to experiencing freedom.

Here's the formula:

T - Teach

R - Reward

U - Uncover needs

S - Sell solutions

T - Trigger actions

TEACH

Many people worry about his word. They do not consider themselves to be expert enough to teach, because they have not yet experienced success.

Thing is, you don't have to be THE expert to teach; you just teach from a place of experience or investigation.

While you shouldn't wait to share until you know everything on a subject, don't write about things you know nothing about either.

REWARD

A vital, often overlooked part, of developing trust with the people on your mailing list is rewarding their continued readership.

The person who joins and stays on your list, consistently opens and reads your messages is more than just a customer. They're a friend.

To reward them, you don't need to spend a lot of money. Use the Private Label Rights products you have on your hard drive, share (with permission) the strategies and ideas you receive in your personal email from the products you buy.

It's always best to give your list something of real value from which you can't profit. This is a sincere gesture that will be remembered when it comes time to buy.

UNCOVER NEEDS

I'm talking about really knowing what your audience needs.

How? By asking! Simple, but true!

To really be effective, you must have pure motives to do this -- it's not a marketing tactic.

Here are three ideas:

Read your blog comments and look for patterns.Ask your list what they need with no ulterior motive.Set up a "reply" email for your list so people can hit "reply" and ask a question.

SELL SOLUTIONS

This goes back to the features vs. benefits discussion.

Once you know what your list members need, it's time to find and offer the right solution.

Make a recommendation based on experience and research, not the latest and greatest trends.

Selling solutions is what it's about. Sell what the product will do for the buyer, not just what the product can do.

TRIGGER ACTIONS

After the hard work of gaining trust, it's time to suggest products that might help your readers.

Based on my own experience, here are a few suggestions:

Only promote what you know works and you do yourself.Be very specific about why you are making a recommendation to take action.Tell your reader the specific action they should take. This could be subscribing to a new list or downloading a free trial.

The most profitable and rewarding thing I've done online is getting to know the people on my list, serving them and having them reward me when I make suggestions.

If you are one of them, and I suspect you are, thank you. I consider you not only a subscriber but a friend.

And friendship is perhaps the most beautiful thing indeed!

List Building Tips - 404 Pages

In this next installment of list building tips, I'm going to cover an area that almost nobody takes advantage of - 404 pages. For those of you who don't know what they are, I'll explain them. For those of you who do and might be wondering how you could ever build a list off of a 404 page, you might just want to keep reading. I promise you that it WILL be a real eye opener.

Let's start off with exactly what a 404 page is for those of you who don't know. A 404 page is one that a visitor will see when they don't get the page of your domain that they're looking for. Now, there can be a number of reasons why this could happen, such as you deleting it without realizing it. Maybe you changed the permalink structure of a site. I could go on for days about what causes 404 errors but the bottom line is this. A visitor tried to access a page on your site, couldn't, and was greeted by an ugly "page could not be found" error which causes them to just move on to something else.

That's a GREAT way to lose prospects.

Okay, so what CAN we do about 404 pages? Well, we can't completely avoid them popping up. Even if we've done nothing wrong and the visitor simply typed in the wrong URL of the page they were looking for (yes, it happens) they're still going to get those errors. However, what we CAN do is customize our 404 pages so that when a visitor DOES get one to pop up, they have the chance to do more than just go away.

How do we do this?

A simple message that says, "Sorry, the page you're looking for doesn't seem to be here. Maybe you'd like to sign up for my free newsletter below... " just might get somebody who would have normally just moved on to do something else, to sign up for your newsletter. It certainly can't hurt to try and what does it cost you? A few minutes of your time to design a page?

Yes, you SHOULD try to make the 404 page as eye catching as possible. Make it humorous even. After all, the visitor isn't finding what he's looking for and is therefore probably at least a little annoyed. A cute little graphic of maybe some guy scratching his head wondering where the page went to just might get a chuckle or two.

For those of you who don't know how to create and setup your hosting to handle a 404 page, it's really very simple.

Step One - Create the page and save it with an obvious name. Something like 404.html will do fine.

Step Two - Edit your, htaccess file by adding the following line:

ErrorDocument 404 /404.html

And that's it. That's all there is to it.

This way, if a visitor to your site doesn't get the page they're looking for, they at least get a page that might have some meaning to them and JUST might get you another list member.

Try it. You might JUST be surprised by the results.

To YOUR Success,

Steven Wagenheim

List Building Overview

With so much information out there it's easy to think that everyone (except you) is busy building their list and making money. You struggle to sell things online, when you don't need to.

The good news is that you really can begin building your own mailing list, today, by taking some specific actions.

So, why would you want a mailing list of your own?

In the history of the Internet it has been observed that a full 99% of people who succeed online long-term have a list of their own. Now that's not scientific but it's true. When you have a list of your own you completely eliminate advertising costs. I mean completely. With your own list you can promote anything you want any time you want and as often as you want... for zero cost.

To gain a little understanding, let's look at the who, what, when, where, why and how of list building.

WHO SHOULD BUILD A LIST?

There is an easy answer to this question. The answer is... anyone who is serious about building an online business or making money online.

If you are marketing online as a short-term thing and you aren't really committed to succeeding online, then list building is probably not right for you.

The reason is simple - once you have a list you need to stay in touch with them and let them get to know you a bit so they can like you, trust you and buy from you.

Please notice that order because it's important. They need to like you before they can trust you. And they need to trust you before they will buy from you!

WHAT IS NEEDED TO BUILD A LIST?
A squeeze page. You can use a blog (or other page), but squeeze pages work best.An auto-responder to capture leads and send follow-up messages.Something of value to get people to join your list. People care about WIIFM (what's in it for me) and providing a high-value "subscriber magnet" works well. Video series and downloadable PDF reports work especially well.Email messages you can send automatically to the people who sign up for your list.Great products to promote to your list. The goal is to make sales, so provide helpful articles about a specific problem and then offer to solve that problem for your reader by suggesting a product. Don't push the product, the sales letter of the product will do that. You just sell the click by creating curiosity.Targeted traffic. Simple, yet important. Once you have your system in place you want to market to people who you KNOW need what you are offering. It's called target marketing and it is the most important skill online.

If you have, or can learn to get, these six things you will have all you need to build a real and lasting online business.

WHEN IS IT SMART TO BUILD A LIST?

If you are not building a list now, it's time to get started.

If you see the logic of needing a list, commit to doing something every day toward building your own list.

I have spoken with literally thousands of people and can tell you that they ALL wish they had begun building their list when they started working online.

Most lost huge amounts of time trying this system and falling for this other hyped-up deal. We've all been there.

All we have is today. And today is the PERFECT time to get started building your list.

WHERE CAN I START BUILDING A LIST?

The best place to get started in my view is Aweber. Aweber is not only the best auto-responder, but they have an incredible free series of videos to teach you the steps you need.

WHY WOULD I WANT TO BUILD A LIST?

Easy: to make money by selling things. That might mean affiliate marketing or selling your own product or something else.

But if you are online to make money then list building matters... a lot.

Here's another reason - when you have a list, you become a sought-after joint venture partner. You might not believe me right now but trust me when I say that if you build a powerful list the top marketers online will come a knockin' on your door. They will want to reach YOUR audience. How cool would that be?

HOW CAN I START BUILDING A MAILING LIST?

The first step is to see the big picture. I hope this article helped you do that.

Take a moment to review the six points in the "What is needed" section above. Use it as your list-building blueprint if you like.

I will tell you that having a mailing list of my own, and knowing what to do with it and how to develop trust and relationship, has been the most profitable thing I've ever done online.

About twice a year I'm asked "what would you do if you lost everything - how would you start over?"

My answer probably won't surprise you -- I would focus 100% of my efforts on building a list and giving the people on that list incredible value.

Once you do that selling takes care of itself and becomes automatic.

And having an automated selling system (or 12 of them) is a beautiful thing indeed!

How To Build Your Email List Fast - Improve Your Sales With This Method

How to build your email list fast is something that the successful internet marketers is one of the biggest problems that people have.

There are two types of internet marketers, those that put in the time and effort to build their list and reap the rewards and those that cannot be bothered to put in the effort and just go around trying to sell their product to anyone.

If you are the second type who does not want to put in the effort then I suggest you stop reading this article now. This is only for those who truly want to be successful online.

Let us start with the basics. In order to build your list you have to get the persons e-mail address. In order to do this you first have to get the persons attention. The best way of doing this is to offer them something of value that will solve a problem that they are having or will make life easier for them. The best method is to send them the item by e-mail. Most people are willing to do this but they often do not give you their primary e-mail address. This is OK though because you just need to be able to contact them.

So what sort of page captures the person's attention so that they will give out their email address? Firstly the page has to look as professional as possible. You can either create your own page or get one made by a professional. If you are just starting out then I would recommend you take the time to learn how to create your own web page. It takes a little bit of time to learn how to do it but it is a skill that can make you a great full time income. This page is what is called a squeeze page and its sole function is to captures the persons email address. Do NOT try to sell to them at this stage; you are only after their email. Now you have to decide what your free gift will be. One of the best ways is a free ebook that solves the person's problem. This can be sent to them only they give you an email address to send it to.

Do you see how it works now? Explain how your free gift will solve their problem and list some of the benefits of getting this ebook. You want to make them feel that they must get this ebook. To further encourage the persons to get it straight away you could say that the offer will be taken down very soon so they must act quickly. Encouraging urgency is the key, use your imagination to come up with ideas. You could say that after a few days they will have to pay to get it, which is why they must act now to get it for free.

List Building: One Thing That Most Internet Marketing Gurus Agree On

The list is the lifeblood of any online business. This is something that most experts in Internet marketing can agree on. List building is therefore something which they place a lot of emphasis on.

So what is a list and what do you mean by building a list? A list is essentially the information of people who have signed up to receive an information product from your online business.

At its most basic, this information should contain the email address of the person who signed up because that's the easiest way you can maintain contact with him or her. Other information like the name and address may be included but that is optional.

Building a list essentially means adding more people to your list. To build a list, there are certain tools which all Internet marketers will use. The first is a squeeze page which is used to capture the detail of any visitors. The design and complexity of each squeeze page varies according to the guru's preference but the aim is the same: to get people to opt in to your list.

Usually, there will be words that are used to attract people to sign up. Some squeeze pages use videos as well. But what is common to all squeeze pages is an opt-in form for visitors to fill in their details.

A free gift is included as well to entice people to opt in. This can be a free ebook, ecourse, software, audio or video. Whatever the form you choose, it should be something that is sufficiently attractive to get people to sign up for it.

Another must-have tool is an email autoresponder. An autoresponder is a software system that helps you to manage your emails to your list. You can use it to schedule your emails to be send out on autopilot. A critical thing especially if your list is growing.

With an autoresponder, it'll be easier for you to build your relationship with your list and even market products to them over the long term. So you'll be able to ramp up your income whenever you want if you have a list. That is why most Internet marketing gurus swear by list building.

There are a number of autoresponders in the market. The more popular ones are GetResponse and Aweber.

Another essential component of list building is traffic generation, which means getting people to visit your squeeze page. Some traffic generation methods include article marketing, pay-per-click advertising, blogging and video marketing.

Different Internet marketing gurus favour different methods. But all agree on the importance of generating traffic. You can give each a try and see which one works best for you.

Need a Big Marketing List Fast?

Since every guru that you meet will tell you that the money is in the list then, not surprisingly, every newbie will rush to do just that.

With such a large number of willing potential customers it is of no surprise that many opportunities exist to obtain a monster list immediately. You just have to part with some money and you can buy lists of email addresses. Depending on the amount of money that you wish to spend, the list can be specific in size, location or any number of variables.

So, there you have it. If your need was for a big list, fast, here it is.

But right now you are thinking there's a catch. Well, you have been supplied with a list of email addresses but how many other people have been supplied with the same list? If you bulk email all of the addresses on the list your email will be one among how many?

Did you get confirmation from the supplier that it was a new list? Did they tell you that the list had been up-dated? (That is where those no longer in use have been excluded). How old were all those letters of commendations from previous customers?

Yes, you have a list, but now it dawns on you that it is not your list. What you need is indeed a big list, but it must be a big list of people that know you and will become buyers of your products. Customers that trust your judgement and will therefore be more likely to take your recommendations for future purchases. That is a list that will be of real value to you and for a long time.

My advice is not to try the short cut of buying a list. Instead, grow your own. Yes, you are going to have to have a site with good relevant content. More importantly you are going to have to keep on providing up to date relevant content. You are going to have to give before you receive and any offers that you give will need to provide real value.

Once you feel that your site provides real value you will need to get in front of the largest number of people. This will mean promoting your site. You are looking to get a good position with the search engines. Keep up to date with your keywords/search terms. Maximise your back-linking to other relevant sites. If you are not an expert at search engine optimisation get some professional help.

Now that you have a following you can use a capture page to get the email addresses of like-minded individuals that will remain with you longer and represent true value.

List Building is a science, not an art. You can learn it with a little help. Follow me and quickly get to where you want to be.

3 Tips To Make Your Squeeze Page Convert 50% More!

The squeeze page is simply a sales page but not one for selling your products. Rather, it is a web page built with only one intention - to "squeeze" out the email addresses, and not money, out of visitors to your website. It can therefore, be regarded as the gateway to your entire business. As such it should be handled and crafted with utmost care. It is in this wise that these three tips are given in this article to enhance its conversion rate.

Tip # 1:

Design a Proper Squeeze Page.

The squeeze page will reflect whether your business is a lousy or a serious one which visitors could willingly release their well guarded email addresses to. It should be well crafted with all the essentials of a sales letter.

A Great Headline - the headline is perhaps the most important part of your squeeze page. A proper headline should grab the attention and force people to read the rest of your message.Convincing Bullet Points - here, give the premise of your service, and a little bit of pre--âÂÂselling.A Clean, Professional Design that makes it not only visually appealing but also displays the opt-in box prominently visible to visitors.Above the Fold, which means the opt-in box can be seen without excessive scrolling. Above all,Give a Free and Irresistible Offer of considerable value and quality upfront.

Tip # 2:

No Videos On The Page:

Video or audio are no doubt good media that could make your site unique and convince visitors to spend a little more time considering your offer, but the simple fact is that a greater number of the people who visit your squeeze page are rather impulsive; that is to say, they are not exactly patient enough for anything to load if they are not sure they want it. So, keeping your squeeze pages free of videos will allow them to load fast and cleanly. Your visitors, without any waiting, can read the salient points right away, and immediately decide to opt in while their attentions are aflame. Therefore the simple rule of thumb is that, "skip the video or visitors will skip you."

Tip # 3:

No Heavyweight Effects On Your Squeeze Page:

It is not only videos that you should skip on your squeeze page; avoid also any medium that will consume high bandwidths like Music and Sounds, because they will hold up the loading process. And so are images. Take note that smarter users have the ability to block any media from untrusted sources.

My advice in this wise is that, "if you do not want them to block you, just stick to text and graphics."

The foregoing are no secrets but very essential and useful tips... all in an attempt to build your list. Now that you have been with me to this far, I will reveal to you this revolutionary, easy and pleasurable way of List Building

List Building Tips - Referrals

In this third installment of my series on list building, I want to discuss referrals. Admittedly, this is not something I do a lot of and shame on me for it because when I actually DO it, it works. Why does it work and why should YOU consider it for your list building efforts? Keep reading and you'll find out.

Let's start with the premise of our list in the first place. Why are we building it? Well, there could be several reasons actually. But one of the most common is to get a whole bunch of people in one virtual place so that you can send them your message all at once in the hope that MAYBE they'll take some kind of action on that message itself, whether it be checking out an article, watching a video or buying a product. Unless you just like sending out emails for no reason, I'm going to assume that your list has a purpose similar to that in mind.

Now, given the purpose of your list, the one thing you'd like to have above all else is a subscriber who DOES take action. In other words, they read your message and do what you want them to do. And the reason they do it (and this is the key) is because they trust you and trust what you have to say. Somewhere along the line, you've earned that trust through the content that you've sent to them. The bottom line, however, is that you HAVE that trust.

So, let me ask you a question. If you were write to somebody you know who ALREADY trusts you and gets value out of being on your list, and asked them to refer your newsletter to others with similar interests, don't you think that they would gladly tell those in their immediate circle that your newsletter is probably something that they would want to read?

If your skeptical about this, let's take an example from real life that maybe you can relate to a little better.

Your at a bar with your best friend. He's just seen the latest, oh let's say, Batman movie and he says to you, "Man, I just saw that new Batman movie. It was FANTASTIC. You have GOT to see it."

Now think about this. He's your best friend. You value his opinion probably more than anybody else on the subject of movies because throughout your lives together you've always seemed to have the same taste. Don't you think you're going to go see that movie the first chance you get? Conversely, if he said it was horrible, you'd probably skip it.

Referrals are powerful coming from a third party with no divested interest. Of course we could throw a monkey wrench into the works to completely change this (offer a free e-course in exchange for that referral) but let's keep this simple for now. Just ask people who already trust you to recommend your newsletter to others.

If each person on your list who already trusts you and responds to your offer (let's say it's 100 people) gets just ONE person to sign up, that's 100 more people who are likely to end up trusting you as well if for no other reason than the referral that came from somebody who they ALREADY trust.

It's such an underused tactic. I myself don't use it as much as I should. But trust me, when you do use it and use it correctly (and adding incentives just makes it explode) it can really turn your list into a monster.

To YOUR Success,

Steven Wagenheim

Forget the Mousetrap, Build a Better List

Maybe you have tried several but have still not yet found the right one. Don't worry you are not alone we have all been there. But, if we have all been there and all had the same experience perhaps the fault does not lie with the method of list building. Perhaps it lies with us.

Almost all experienced internet marketers will have tried several methods before they tell you about the right one. They mean the right one for them, and this will be after they have tried most of the others.

You can save yourself time, trouble and money if you only did what we all should have done. That is to do your research. All the information that you need is available to you to make a balance decision as to which method you should try first. I say try first because if you have done your research and found the method for you, this should not preclude you for doing another method at the same time or later.

You need to ask yourself if you have the aptitude. There is little point trying to stick to article-writing, if you find writing a chore. Do you have the resources? There is little point using pay-per-click, if you don't have the money to see it through.

Once you have decided how you are going to build your list you will of course need to make the list, this will in turn become two distinctly separate lists. One for the enquirers and another for the buyers.

What we all want is a list of buyers. Those people that buy once may be more likely than average to buy again. This then is one of the pieces of advice that you don't see given away too often. Don't spend your time on building a list of people that collect free reports or free e-books. They probably never have and never will buy anything on line. Instead, spend your time creating a good rapport with those on the buyers list. They will soon come to trust you and your advice.

You are looking for those people that would want your product or service. If your initial offer is made for a modest cost you will attract only those people that a genuinely interested. They may not immediately become buyers of your main product or products but they are far more likely to stay with you than the gatherers of free information.

List Building is a science, not an art. You can learn it with a little help. Follow me and quickly get to where you want to be.

List Building Tips - Novelty Pages

In this installment of List Building Tips, I want to discuss novelty pages. I know this isn't something that a lot of marketers think about, but believe it or not, novelty pages can actually build you quite a nice list if done correctly.

Okay, so what exactly is a novelty page? Well, it can be just about anything that isn't made strictly for the business of, um, doing business.

For example, you could put up a page of nothing but jokes but related to the niche that you're in. Then, at the bottom of the page, you could have a little message that reads something like this.

"Want to get some more great jokes about (fill in the niche) delivered straight to your email box? Fill in your name and email below and I'll send them to you along with some great offers that I think you'll be interested in."

Make it clear to the prospect that they may be receiving emails promoting products that you feel will be of benefit to them. You don't want to be accused of sending information that the prospect didn't ask for. As long as you're up front with everything, there should be no problems.

Another thing you can do is setup a page where the prospects go on a treasure hunt. They click on various links in order to find their way to the prize. Yes, this does take a bit of work to setup but it's a lot of fun and can really go viral, especially if you make the prize something worth going after.

Then, what you do, in order to get people to sign up to your list, is let them know that by doing so, they'll get important hints delivered directly to their email that will help them find the treasure. Of course, also let them know that you might also be sending them an occasional sales pitch. And of course if you want to sweeten the deal, let them know that they'll also get some kind of free e-course or e-book. Use your imagination.

Why do these novelty pages work? It's really very simple. They're not all about work. They're a break from the daily grind of having to run a business or worry about whatever ailment is bothering you. In short, they're entertainment. And people LOVE to be entertained. If it's done in an interesting way AND you actually give them something to shoot for, not only can these pages get lots of opt ins, but they can also go viral like mad if done correctly.

You want to make sure that you map everything out FIRST before you put up one page. If the system isn't complete BEFORE you put it online for the public, your prospects are going to be disappointed by the experience and they WON'T come back. This isn't like building a web site that you can do a piece at a time. Everything has to be in place right from the start. In the case of the treasure hunt game, this is absolutely critical.

Other ideas include puzzles, surveys, video pages and so on. Anything that's not the usual opt in or sales page and is more entertainment than business will work.

Try one. You might be pleasantly surprised by the results.

To YOUR Success,

Steven Wagenheim

List Building Tips - Syndication

In this installment of List Building Tips, I want to discuss syndication; what it is and how to properly go about getting it. I think you will find this interesting reading.

I actually need to start this article off by dispelling a myth that has been going around for a long time. Many marketers feel that having an article appear in more than one place is duplicate content and will thus be penalized as such. So let me clear this myth up before we go any farther.

Duplicate content is when you take the same article and have it appear more than once on the SAME domain. The only actual penalty for that is the article will only be listed in the SERPs ONE time. But you will NOT be penalized for doing this. Your site ranking won't go down. You won't get thrown out of the SERPs. There is no benefit, but there is also no real penalty.

For proof of this, go and look up a current news story and see how many sites are running the EXACT same news story written by the same exact agency, usually AP or UPI. This is called syndication and it's a wonderful thing.

Ultimately, what you DO want is to write an article that is SO good that many authority sites in your niche pick it up and publish it on THEIR site. And if you think this is of no benefit to them because (1) they didn't write the article and (2) because the article is all over the place, think again.

There are sites out there that literally make their living off of publishing syndicated articles. They haven't got one piece of original content on their site and it doesn't make a darn bit of difference. Again, the proof is out there. Just go digging through some of the top niches and you'll find them.

The trick, for YOU, is to write articles GOOD enough to be syndicated. For some folks, that's a mountain and a half to climb.

For starters, they can't write. Their words are like those out of a 3rd grader at best. Add to that the length of some of the articles that people write (a few paragraphs in many cases) and it's no wonder that nobody wants to publish them on their site.

In order to get your articles syndicated, you must write very well, have a beginning a middle and an end, stay on topic, and have your articles be a decent length. A minimum of 500 words to get any decent site to consider publishing you and as many as 1,000 to 1,500 words or more to get the top sites to even look at your articles.

I don't write all my articles for syndication. In fact, this very one is something I wrote simply because I felt it was a message that needed to be sent to article writers today. The years of 300 word pieces of dog meat that used to pull in tons of traffic are over.

Now, there are two ways to get your articles syndicated. One is direct and one is indirect.

The indirect way to get your articles syndicated is to submit them to article directories and hope that a top site sees them, likes them, and publishes them.

The direct way is simply to contact the top sites yourself and ask them if they'll publish your articles. Don't laugh. If you have a top product, you'll get many to say yes.

Ultimately, with syndication, you write one article, submit it one time, and end up with hopefully dozens of sites publishing it because it's THAT good.

I've lost track of how many of my articles have been published elsewhere.

One last word. Don't depend on article directories for direct traffic to your site from the directory itself. You are using them for what they are intended to be used for, and that's to get OTHER sites to pick up the articles FROM the directories and publish them on THEIR sites.

The more times your article gets published, with a link back to your list opt in, the more chances you have to build your list.

Once you understand that, you'll understand just how powerful syndication is to list building.

To YOUR Success,

Steven Wagenheim

Need FREE Nerium Leads

Have you just joined Nerium and you need to generate some leads?

When you first joined Nerium I know that you were so flat out excited and you were told to go out and make a list of your friends, family and co-workers and that all you needed to do was have some results parties and you were going to be making a lot of money. For some people it works great for but if you are like me and thousands of other eager new brand partners it could be a struggle. Nerium is an awesome company with a dynamic product and you can build a true business, but you need to get more eyes on the website to do that.

Nerium and Social Media

What I love about Nerium is that it is using social media to help you build your business. You have a communication center in your back office that you can share videos about joining the business and buying the product that let's you post to Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Google+. There are videos, newsletter, audios and even an e-mail campaign, so using the internet is incorporated to get the word out about the company to help generate leads. The problem however is that new brand members really do not know how to stay in contact with the leads and really what to do with them.

Nerium Brand Partner Training

Nerium offers a new brand partner training that is excellent, however they still encourage the old school way of such as talking to friends and family, passing out flyers and doing result parties as I stated before. This is still a great way but it is not the way of now or the future.

Using this old way of marketing is not yielding the results that new brand partners are looking for and therefore success is not flowing and frustration starts to set in. What needs to happen is Nerium Brand Partners need to learn how to market and market the way that they will see results quickly and start to earn income.

Is Marketing the key to Nerium Brand Partners Success?

Yes, Yes, and Yes! In order to have the success that Nerium Brand Partners are looking for they must learn to market. Some will argue, is that really necessary, can't I just share my replicated site and get people to join.

The problem with replicated sites is that it does not set you apart from other Brand Partners and really does not give people reason to join you. Failure to learn how to market will result in you having no one to expose to your business.

FREE Ways To Generate Leads Easy

Blogging (the most powerful marketing tool there is)

Video Marketing (people will learn to trust who they can see)

Forums (engaging in conversation to build a relationship)

Free Classifieds (getting eyes on your website to a larger audience)

Learning how to generate FREE leads using the methods is really simple if you know how to use them effectively. If you are not doing any of these things you are missing the boat.

Stop struggling, and being frustrated when it is not necessary all you need to do to generate more leads is to learn some new skills in marketing.

Combat Negative SEO With Google Disavow Tool

It is really infuriating when you own a site and receive an incoming link which you don't really want. You are left with almost no option and need to depend on the mercy of the webmaster of the site which is sending incoming links. You can send emails asking him to remove the link and if he is kindhearted enough, he may oblige you. But if he is getting paid to do that he will not be so amicable and will not remove the link.

In this respect, it is important to understand how negative SEO works. Google takes into account different factors before deciding the worth and the rank of any site. One of the important factors is the quality of the site from where you are receiving your incoming links. If those sites are really low quality site and have low page rank (PR) then Google will consider your site to be low quality as well and will consequentially pull your site down. Negative SEO depends on this factor and try to pull down competitor's sites by sending them links from low quality sites.

The scenario is about to change as Google has introduced a new tool for the webmasters called the "Disavow Tool". What this tool does is that it allows the webmasters to report to Google about the incoming links which are unwanted. Google, in return, will not consider those links and those sites anymore to decide the rank of your site. This tool, thus, eliminates the need to depend on the whims of other webmasters. You can simply report to Google about those unwanted links and relax.

Obviously, Google can't remove those links but the links will be ignored and thus those links will become worthless. They simply will cease to affect your ranking.

Earlier, Google used to send warning emails if it found unnatural links, paid links or link exchange, asking the webmasters to remove each of those low quality inbound links. Google and other prominent search engines will rank your site better after removing those malicious links. This also helped users to receive a positive perception about your website.

But if some sites are stubborn, then you can't really get them to remove links to your site. In this case, this new tool is like a real blessing. You can simply use this tool to completely disassociate your site from those unwanted links. To your great luck, the tool is rather easy to use too. The steps are as follows:

1. Open Google Disavow Tools page.
2. Provide your domain name and validate it.
3. Upload the file which contains all the links you want to disavow.

After that Google will duly ignore those links and you will enjoy the benefits of only those links which you want.

How to Build a List for FREE - For Those That Cannot Even Spare a Dime!

How to build a list for FREE - there are many posts and learned articles which purport to answer this question... however when I state here it's for FREE... I really do mean it! That means absolutely no costs at all! No domain names, no hosting account charges and no autoresponder costs.

I think that covers it all... of course if you don't have a computer, smartphone or tablet and a broadband and electricity supply... you'll have to go borrow that... but I guess if that was the case you wouldn't have read this article as you would have no means to be online!

Until I fell on this method, the one I used to get started still ruled supreme... but it did need AWeber (a great autoresponder service)... which for the first payment would cost you a dollar.

Using that method you could avoid you having to pay for a hosting account. You just use the facility of having AWeber host your optin form which is build within AWeber... this is then send directly to an affiliate offer.

A better twist on that method is to select an affiliate offer which has a FREE gift built into the offers sales funnel so you can spice up your optin form with a headline offering that Free gift!

The downside is

- you pay for your autoresponder- you are not supplying a free gift that is unique- your new subscriber arrives too quickly at the affiliate site and sees the site, not you, as the expert!

I cannot really be critical as that method alone produced my first 2000 list but it did not allow the flexibility of you having your own Free gift, thankyou page/ download funnel and upsell.

So how to build a list for FREE...

The method I am about to describe has the following benefits

- No domain names to buy- No hosting account needed- use with any FREE autoresponder, such as Linkwire- Uses your own, high converting squeeze page- Allows you to create a sales funnel, ie thankyou page/download page- allows you to create and send a unique FREE offer for better conversion rates- allows you to upsell to an affiliate offer and make money

The secret to this great method is Dropbox!

You may or not have heard or used Dropbox... I have as it is the easiest way to allow my outsourcer in the Philippines access to large files... The method centers on using Dropbox as a "hosting account" (You can join Dropbox at Dropbox.com for FREE and it comes with 2Gb of filing space.)

This is quite enough to contain your Squeeze Page, Thank you/download page and you Free ebook/gift. All you need to do is upload them to the file called Public folder which you see as soon as you sign up.

The Public folder lets you easily share single files in your Dropbox. Any file you put in this folder gets its own Internet link that you can share with others -- even non-Dropbox users!

Step 1: Drop a file into the Public folder.Step 2: Right-click this file, then choose Dropbox > Copy Public Link. This copies an Internet link to your file that you can paste anywhere: emails, instant messages, blogs, etc. That's it! Now you can share any single file in the folder!.

NB: New Dropbox accounts created after October 4, 2012 no longer have a Public folder. Don't worry! Every account created prior to this date will still have a Public folder. If you would like to enable a Public folder on a new account, see the instructions below.

All the extra functionality provided by the Public folder is now accessible anywhere in your Dropbox. Now all you need to do to share and preview files and folders in your Dropbox is select Share link via your computers, phones, and tablets.

Each individual item within your dropbox has it's own URL, so the sequence you have to set up is as follows

The link that you send people for optin is the URL for the optin file that you loaded into Dropbox. You should mask this link using a link shortener like bitly or tiny.cc otherwise people will see that you are using public Dropbox files which they could access directly. The link you would use to put in your autoresponder form to send the person opting in to is the URL for your thankyou/download page.Your first Follow up email in your autoresponder sequence woul give the URL for the free ebook/gift from within dropbox.

Please remember to use link shorteners for all 3 URLs. A secondary advantage of using the 2 suggested shorteners is that they will give you full statistics of the traffic.

In order to set this in motion,

- you need one of the many FREE squeeze pages you will find by using Google to search online.- you need to either download a FREE download/thankyou page by finding using Google or just create your own with a Word file.-you need an affiliate product to promote by creating sales text and a link within this page. Find something on Clickbank or Rapbank to promote which is congruent with your Free ebook.- create a free ebook - this is much better than using someone elses or some PLR offer. It needs to be unique. It does not need to be more than a few pages..you can call it a report or guide if you prefer. It should be the best you can produce... it is meant to be attractive and should over deliver value!

These can invariably be altered to use your own words.

So... it really is that easy... you can do it! I think I have delivered my promise... How to build a list for FREE

How To Generate Free Website Traffic In Three Top Ways!

There is only one hard and fast rule whereby your website can generate income online. It needs fuel to run on. This fuel, in internet language, means your website visitors, or "traffic."

The rate at which you have people visiting your website determines how fast you're going to be profitable and successful. The converse is also true that, if no one goes to your site, there is hardly any chance of generating an income. It is for this reason that most of the top hit sites spend tons of real cash to drive traffic to their sites. They invest in many advertising campaigns and different forms of marketing schemes and other gimmicks. But you can opt out of this cash spending spree if you do not have the resources because there are other ways to generate website traffic without having to lose your shirt over it. In this short article, let us consider only three of these top methods of generating free traffic!

1. Exchange Links

This is the method whereby one webmaster exchanges links with another one so that they both produce more public awareness about their various sites. A successful implementation of this method brings a sudden upsurge of traffic coming to your site from other sites.

The main prerequisite in executing exchanging links with other sites is that both sites should be operating in the same niche. They should both share a common subject so that the targeted traffic can find continuity in information.

Another advantage in exchanging links is that you boost your chances of getting a high ranking from the search engines. It is common knowledge that one of the many criteria search engines use to rank sites is inbound and outbound theme-related links. Your good ranking position in the search engines leads to more free traffic to your website. This traffic is said to be organic because they are already interested in your topic. It is highly valuable and long-lasting.

2. Article Marketing

There are many electronic magazines (or e-zines) on the internet which give out free space for you to submit articles which they publish if it is up to their standard. It is advisable that your articles have the same thematic areas as your site. And also show your expertise in your articles so that when they read it they eagerly follow up through your Resource Box to your site to read more.

3. Forum Marketing

A forum is a place where people exchange opinions and ideas on a particular topic. There are many of such forums online which you can visit to explain, educate or show people how to solve certain problems. By showing your knowledge and expertise within these many online communities, you build a reputation as the store of knowledge and people will frequent your site to drink from your fountain of knowledge.

Internet Marketing and the Power of Solo Ads

When it comes to Internet Marketing, there are quite a number of strategies that you can employ and solo ads is just one of them. The Internet has a wealth of advertising and promotional opportunities for those who want to reach their target market. Almost everybody is online these days, and if you're a business that has failed to recognize how powerful the Internet is in running your operations, then you will lose out in the end.

If you come to think about it, with the Internet, everything is literally at one's fingertips. Anytime anyone needs a certain piece of information, the Internet is there. It has also bridged a lot of communication gaps, erasing all kinds of geographical barriers and other challenges. With the tools available for marketers these days, everything is so much easier.

Getting Your Message Out to as Many People as Possible

A solo ad is basically what happens when you hire or pay people to e-mail your advertisement to their own mailing list. When they send your advertisement out, this usually contains a link to your website and something that will really convince the people in their mailing list to pay attention to what you have to offer. Solo ads therefore are a very good way to get your message out there to as many people as possible. You alone may have a limited mailing list, because this list will just be constrained to your own network. But with a solo ad, you can send out your message to the mailing list of other people, so you can reach a bigger chunk of the population.

How Solo Ad Service Providers Can Help You

With access to the mailing list of others and your message reaching as many people as possible, it will be very easy for you to generate awareness even if you don't have a large network. Solo ad service providers have access to mailing lists that can really help you reach the people you need to reach, and they can multiply your email and send to everyone quickly. They're equipped with mailing systems that can really help mail out whatever message you have in the shortest possible time, and this is why it will be worth your while to hire their services instead of figuring out exactly how to get your message across to a significant number of people.

Choosing Wisely

Clearly, it makes a lot of business sense to use this as a strategy for Internet marketing. However, you have to realize that there are so many service providers of such service and you can't rely on just anyone without checking whether or not that provider is really credible. This is a service that you will be paying for, so you should take steps to ensure that you're really getting good value for your money. If you hire a good solo ad service provider with a reliable mailing list, then you will really reap the benefits that solo ads bring to the table.

5 Simple Ways to Build a List

For email marketing to be successful, it is imperative that a solid list be built. Not only is a good base list important, a continuing growth must occur in order to build upon the success. In email marketing, there is no such thing as too many names. Over the years, there have been methods proven to increase the size of an email list.

Make Joining a List Easy

It is the age of instant gratification, which includes getting signed up for programs and mailing lists. Putting a sign-up box or link on outgoing emails, a website, even on social network profile pages makes it simple and quick for people to sign up for emails. It only takes a few moments to get these links set up, creating a valuable opportunity to build a list.

Use Social Networking to Build a List

Social networks are extremely valuable when trying to build a client or email list. Once a brand is built, people should be given every opportunity to find out more information. Use a scheduling program, such as HootSuite to schedule tempting posts that include a link to the email sign-up form. Post status updates that are interesting and relevant in order to achieve the most success.

Offer Interesting Teasers to Build a list

Offers to join an email list must offer consumers something of interest. It is wise to pique the public's interest about the marketer's area of expertise. Teasers should be enough to gain attention, but not outrageous, such as, "Make 10,000 every day." Using teasers works more efficiently than hard-sell tactics for email lists. The sale can come later, after they have joined the email list and have learnt to trust you.

Offer Inclusion to the Email List to People Met

Business cards are a fantastic way to build an email list, provided they are handed out often. When someone offers a business card, it is common practice to offer one back. Be certain the link to an email is on it. Some business professionals verbally offer to send emails when they meet people who may be interested. A good number of potential clients are lost because people do not approach them offline.

Build a List by Giving Something Away

People love getting free things, regardless of whether the gift is valuable in and of itself. A great way to build an email list is by offering something of interest, such as an e-book or a consultation. If an e-book is offered, be sure it is legal to give away. This technique will appeal to those who want to know more about what is being offered, and shift the attention away from the fact that they are signing up to be on an email list.

The competition is stiff for email sign-ups of any kind. Set the provided information above the rest in some way, and do not miss any opportunity to entice someone to sign up for the emails. Every contact-online and off-is a potential addition to the email list. Without appearing pushy, take every advantage to get people to want to sign up for emails.
